Castrated roosters

The ancient Iranians considered the rooster to be auspicious because it was the harbinger of morning and the departure of darkness. In the Avesta, the Rooster is mentioned with the name "Parvardesh" which means predictor and sacred and auspicious bird. It was believed that the rooster with its crowing in the morning drives away the divan and is a symbol of the victory of light over darkness. Despite these explanations, the rooster in this collection is a symbol of men who are castrated under the burden of social and political problems. But their ultimate effort is to change the status quo and achieve peace.
